Neil Peart Drums: The Kit – iMap Demo

Here is Dave Kerzner from Sonic Reality showing the new forthcoming Neil Peart Drums: The Kit in action played from the keyboard using Sonic Reality’s iMap – a mapping format for enhanced expression with acoustic drum kits played from a midi keyboard. Neil Peart Drums are also mapped for V-Drums, GM and any Custom e-Drum kit or pad set up. It is going to be available from Sonic Reality as well as from all Sonic Reality dealers. Here the Infinite Player/Kontakt version is being shown and this is actually the LE lite version. The Deluxe version is even more expressive.

@Trommealvar Check out sonicreality(dot)com product section. We have signature kits with Terry Bozzio, Bill Cobham, Jerry Marotta, John Blackwell, Danny Gottlieb, Bill Bruford, Steve Gadd, Nick D’Virgilio, Ed Greene, Rod Morgenstein and many others. Each sound totally unique from each other too! Drum Masters and EpiK DrumS are worth a look… and they all use the same platform so you can “expand” with more drummer’s kits. Cool huh? Fun stuff for sure. “Virtual Reality”

@schultzomerta You would have to use it on a computer hooked up via a midi interface to your V-Drums. You’d also need an audio interface for your computer – best is to get one that has midi and audio.

This is just amazing work! One drummer whose kit I’d really love to be able to play on my DTX900 is Simon Phillips’ – do have any plans to make more signature packs?

I am new to electronic drums, but I really want this product. If I buy Roland Vdrums how do I use this product on a vdrum kit? Can the sounds get loaded into a vdrum module or something or do I have to use some sort of computer hooked up to vdrums? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

@sonicreality I’m also new to this type of program. Do you need the computer hooked up to the V-drums kit to play these sounds? Let me know if there’s more info somewhere about how all this works.

@IslandDigital You don’t need anything! It comes with the software to be able to play it. Infinite Player from Sonic Reality & Kontakt Player 4 by Native Instruments… now comes FREE with Neil Peart Drums Vol. 1: The Kit. You’ll need a god 35 gigabytes of space on your hard drive though! Pre-orders start this week and the product will be shipping in 3-4 weeks or less.

@biggbaddjohn We recorded audio grooves with Neil but it is not confirmed yet if those will be released. Perhaps they will. But for now it is just one incredible kit – the one he used on the Rush Snakes and Arrows tour.

    Hello Sonic Reality,
I am FAIRLY new to these type of programs. I have a V-Drum setup and use either Superior 2.0 and/or Addictive Drums. Could you tell me how I could use this with the V-Drums. What Player would I NEED to buy for it to work? THANKS ! Sounds are outstanding ! Can’t wait for the electronic kit sounds to come out also.
