Nokia N85 Cell Phone Review

Nokia is one of the most innovative companies in the world. It may have been upstaged by Apple in the past few months, but Nokia still holds a commanding position in the mobile phone market. N85 is a smartphone by Nokia that helps you do more with your phone. Not only you can listen to music, surf the Internet, and find directions with the GPS feature. The device is designed to bring you a all-in-one solution for your digital life. Take pictures, manage your contacts, record your conversations, and even find a new restaurant all using this one gizmo.

If you are looking for an alternative phone to the iPhone, N85 may be one to consider. It comes with a high quality camera that you expect to see from a good smartphone these days. With a 5 mega pixel digital camera, you can now take pictures in high quality right with your phone. You also get GPS on your gizmo. You can now find anywhere in your neighborhood with this built-in feature. This is very handy especially if you have a separate GPS device that is not portable like your cell-phone. And if you like customizing things, you can get started by customizing your ring tone fast on your phone. You can choose your favorite tone without too much fuss.

I found the e-mail support to be adequate. This device supports IMAP, POP3, and SMTP with support for attachments and filtering. That should be good enough to work with most email services. You also have access to a 802.11g adapter that allows you to connect to high speed networks fast. You can also create and customize your contact lists. It supports multiple number and e-mail details per contact, contacts with images.

The voice recorder was a great addition. You can record lectures and business meetings with your device to refer to them later. You can manage your daily life a lot better with a sophisticated calendar with day, week and month view, up to 1500 entries, alarm, reminders

N95 comes with a lot of good features. You can use this gadget to take pictures, record video, or voice. The wireless capability allows you to go Wi-Fi to get more done on the web. You can also use the GPS to get directions. The battery could be better. You can talk for 7 hours using this cellphone. It also stands by for more than 360 hours. That means you won’t have to charge it every single minute. But that’s not exactly going for two weeks without a charge either. The keyboard was not that easy to use for long periods of testing. And this is not cheap.

Overall, if you are looking for an alternative to the iPhone, you may want to consider this gizmo. It is certainly capable of keeping you connected in this digital age.

How much would it cost to upgrade my att cell phone to an iphone?

Question by lisa: How much would it cost to upgrade my att cell phone to an iphone?
Currently, I have a family plan of 850 minutes for two lines with unlimited texting on one line. I pay around 0 for this plan. When these lines are eligible for an upgrade, I would like to switch to the iphone, but am unsure how much more it would cost for the unlimited data plan. Would it be cheaper to upgrade both lines on the family plan to the iphone with the unlimited data plan for both? How much more should I expect to pay for the iphone package?

Answer by evilattorney
There is no unlimited data plan for new smart phone customers. AT&T offers 2 smart phone data plans. 200mb for /month and 2gb for /month. Each smart phone is required to have its own data plan. The data plan is the only additional cost you will incur.

POP3 settings

POP3 is a way to receive the e-mail messages in your Hotmail Inbox on other devices or services (for example, on your mobile phone, in an e-mail program on your computer, or in a different e-mail service). You don’t need to change any Hotmail settings, but the mobile phone, e-mail program, or service may need you to enter your Hotmail POP3 settings when you’re adding your Hotmail account.

Hotmail POP3 settings:

Field Value

Incoming POP server pop3.live.com

Incoming POP mail port 995
POP SSL required Yes

User name Your Windows Live ID (for example: example555@hotmail.com)
password The password you use to sign in to Hotmail

Outgoing SMTP server smtp.live.com

Outgoing SMTP mail port 25 or 587

Authentication required Yes (your Windows Live ID and password)

TLS/SSL required Yes (select TLS if available, if not select SSL)
