Question by tpowers55: I installed Exchange 2003 with Active Directory. I activated IMAP but only my admin acct works..?
I cannot seem to figure out why my personal account (a domain admin) and the administrator account on the domain can do IMAP but all my users cannot. Any help appreciated!!

In Domain (ADS) other user acts as a dump user.
They do not have rights.
they are just to request service from server.
Admin have full right only they can access or work it on.
But for your personal account you can put it in Administrator group for having full right or for accessing.
If everyone can access then there will be no difference in admin and user.

@dlnorman You can try Zimbra, apparently it connects to exchange as long as IMAP is enabled http://bit.ly/11vTQn

Is the Yahoo Mail server POP, IMAP, or Exchange?

-

Question by hutacars: Is the Yahoo Mail server POP, IMAP, or Exchange?
I need to set up a Mail account on my Mac, and I want to be able to check on my Yahoo account (as well as my Cox account while my other computer is being repaired, long story, but I know that that uses POP3). But in the setup for Mail, it asks if you use POP, IMAP, or Exchange. I don’t know what any of these mean. I don’t want to get the paid version of Yahoo Mail, so if anyone can tell me what to set it to, as well as what address to use (will yahoo.com work?), your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

I have not done this but it looks like their email servers are POP3.

To know what server name to connect to log onto the email web client click on the “options” link to the upper right corner then click on the “POP Access and Forwarding” link and then click the “View POP Settings” link and if a form comes up enter your information and after that the page that comes up should give you any other information you will need. (It can be different depending on what type of account you have.)
