Under Settings, click on “Mail, Contacts, Calendar”. 2.Tap on “Add Account” in the Accounts page. 3.Tap on “Microsoft Exchange” to configure Hotmail access. 4.Enter your full Hotmail email address in both Email and Username fields. Leave Domain blank. Enter your password. In the Description field, enter a name, eg Hotmail. Please note that you may have to wait a few seconds after step 4 before the ‘Server name’ field appears. 5.Enter m.hotmail.com for the Server name and tap “Next”. 6.In addition to mail you can now sync your Hotmail contacts and calendar. Select which to sync and save. Congratulations. You have now set up Hotmail on your iPhone.

POP3 settings

POP3 is a way to receive the e-mail messages in your Hotmail Inbox on other devices or services (for example, on your mobile phone, in an e-mail program on your computer, or in a different e-mail service). You don’t need to change any Hotmail settings, but the mobile phone, e-mail program, or service may need you to enter your Hotmail POP3 settings when you’re adding your Hotmail account.

Question by Catinaz: What is servers addresses for hotmail and yahoo?
I would like to set up kmail (or thunderbird) to read my e-mail from my hotmail and yahoo mail boxes. How should i do it. Is it POP3 or IMAP? What are the Incoming and Outgoing servers?

I believe non of those will support HTTP email.
I know Microsoft Outlook Express does for hotmail.
When you create an account on OE you can choose between POP3, IMAP and HTTP. After you select HTTP, you select Hotmail on the bottom.
For Yahoo, you better click on the link bellow. It’s for OE also, but I’m sure you’ll figure it out for thunderbird, etc, almost the same thing.
