You need to sign up for Yahoo Mail Plus at first to use POP service. Or you could use YPOPs! -don’t know whether it’s legal to use it or not-
Anyway, required informations are:

* Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port: 995)

* Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication)

* Account Name/Login Name: Your Yahoo! Mail ID (your email address without the “@yahoo.com”)

* Email Address: Your Yahoo! Mail address (e.g., user@yahoo.com)

* Password: Your Yahoo! Mail password

I’ve used Yahoo Mail for a number of years. I’m very happy with the Yahoo Mail web interface — but I’d also like to be able to use IMAP email clients. I currently have a paid subscription for POP3 and SMTP access, but IMAP would be a much more convenient option.

Google recently added free IMAP support, and for the first time I’m tempted to switch to a different mail provider. I’m hoping that Yahoo might at least indicate whether they plan to provide IMAP in the near future, because I’d rather not have to change my email address. I don’t mind paying extra for this service.

Please tell me when will Yahoo! have IMAP access?!

I want Yahoo! to be more business oriented and a lot faster. Some lessons could be learned from MobileMe and Gmail.

It’s not true. With Yahoo! Mail Plus you won’t get IMAP protocol.
