No, that’s for email, not for printing. But you get them from your email provider. It’s their server. (The port is 25, unless your provider uses something else.)

Serious AIM IMAP and SMTP issues. Port maybe? help?

-

Question by johnthecompnerd: Serious AIM IMAP and SMTP issues. Port maybe? help?
I prefer to use my AIM email through Outlook Express since it’s faster. All of a sudden, emails stopped being sent. It worked for about 5 months now and I don’t know why it would be acting like this. I checked the latest and greatest news to make sure that AIM and AOL didn’t cancel their free IMAP and SMTP Service but everything checks out. I can send an email using their traditional webmail interface so it’s not my screenname and it’s not one of those security strings either. Anyone else having a problem with this? Before you send me the stupid obvious answer, YES, I DO HAVE MY SMTP PORT AT 587. I DIDN’T FORGET TO CHANGE IT FROM THE DEFAULT. Sorry about the caps… not screaming, just making my point.

(When I said “port maybe?” up there, I meant is it possible that AOL changed the SMTP port from 587 to something else

SMTP is 25 by default. I don’t know if they changed it, but it would sure be simpler for everyone to set it up if they did.
